PRESS RELEASEFollowing an emergency meeting on March 25, 2020, The Washington County Board of Commissioners has voted to mandate the closure of all county buildings to the public. Up to now, some offices have been accepting appointments for in-person assistance – however, as of today, all contact must be done via phone, email, postal service mail, or outside of a county building. Magistrate Court, located in the annex building, will remain open per amended Administrative Order, as posted at the courthouse. All Washington County offices will remain staffed in order to serve our citizens through this difficult and unprecedented time. Our commissioners and department heads urge the citizens of Washington County to refrain from traveling to areas currently experiencing a high concentration of COVID-19 cases. Our goal is to help slow the spread and “flatten the curve”, so as to not overwhelm the medical facilities in our area. We will continue to issue updates as necessary, and thank you for doing your part to protect your families and our vulnerable populations by practicing social distancing and staying home and safe. For more information on COVID-19, and updates to our area, please visit the Southwest District Health website at https://phd3.idaho.gov/.
